See The USA - Day 3 - Oakdale, WI
July 4, 2005 - Today was a no travel day. I was up at the crack of dawn, as usual, and we finally got going about 8:30. We drove the 40 miles down to Wisconsin Dells and snooped around there awhile. I can see the the Dells would be a great place to take kids but for adults? Not really. But we can say we went there.

This giant moose stood still for me so I could take his picture.

The giant bear also put his best face on for the camera.

The auto museum was a joke. $4.50 each to tour the museum which amounted to less than 20 cars all jammed together in the back of this building.

This is probably the strangest thing in Wisconsin Dells. A replica of the White House, turned upside down as if destroyed. Who thinks this stuff up?

Here's the front of it. Notice the door at the top.

This must be the east wing or whatever. They even stuck a Dodge Neon under the corner of the building as if it landed on it. Couldn't have picked a better car if you ask me.

Here's the Indian Trading Post where we bought a couple T-shirts. Debbie just loved the authentic Indian blankets with Made in Mexico on the label. And let's not forget the authentic Indian beads made in China.

Since Debbie is 1/4 Cherokee, we decided that this would be the proper way to travel. So we traded the camper in for this teepee. But we got a great deal!

Here's the restaurant we had lunch at. Absolutely the best stuffed mushrooms I have ever put in my mouth! And the ribs weren't bad either.

Just one of many waterparks here.

And no tourist trap would be complete without an authentic wooden Trojan Horse.

How would you like to ride a roller coaster made of wood?

Here's the wayside about 8 miles from the campground right next to Castle Rock.

Castle Rock was once an island in a glacial lake...well, blow up the picture below and you can read all about it.

Click on the picture and read all about Castle Rock.

Here's the face of it. I tried to get Debbie to climb up to the top so I could get her picture but she left her rock climbing gear back at the camper.
