See The USA - Day 26 and 27 - Tucumcari, NM and Ft Smith, AR
July 27 - 28, 2005 - We left Flagstaff and made it all the way to Tucumcari, NM on Wednesday. When we got there we had no internet and marginal cell phone. The next day was NOT fun. We went through a little bit of Texas and then we hit Oklahoma. Those roads are a NIGHTMARE. We had intended to stop in OK overnight but decided to drive an extra 100 miles to get out of that state. We arrived in Ft Smith AR about 5:30 PM.

Leaving Arizona almost to the New Mexico state border.

Welcome to New Mexico!

Amazing how the scenery changes at every state line.

Albuquerque, NM is a pretty town. All the overpasses and barriers are painted, not just concrete colored like other places.

Welcome to Texas!

More windmills like we saw in Illinois. These were close to the road and Lady decided they needed to be barked at.

No pictures from Oklahoma. We spent too much time bouncing around the truck. We were extremely happy to see this sign!

Total Miles driven the last two days: 1066
Today's Avg MPG 12.0
Total Trip Miles: 6251
Tomorrow's Plans: Pretty much the trip is over. We'll be heading the last little bit home on Sunday and get back to life. Thanks for following us along.
