See The USA - Day 24 - Flagstaff, AZ
July 25, 2005 - We pulled out about 8:30 headed for Flagstaff, AZ. We had to go about 100 miles out of our way to avoid towing around Hoover Dam. There's construction there and trucks and RV's were told to take the alternate route. We took 95 South through a piece of California and picked up I-40 in Needles, CA. We stopped in Flagstaff at 3 PM and made camp.

Here's another desert lake. You can see the mountains reflect in the water.

More dirt, hills, rocks and sagebrush. This is 95 south of Searchlight, NV in California. This road was like a roller coaster ride.

Finally on I-40! Welcome to Arizona!

A desert view from the rest area where we had lunch.

Closer to Flagstaff, the road starts climbing, and climbing up to 7000 feet altitude. Who cares though, it's COOL here!

This is the view in front of the camper.

Desert landscaping has to include big rocks. See the ones at the bottom center? They're right on the edge of the campsite by the road. Took three tries to get the trailer in here without hitting them. Real smart landscaping.
