See The USA - Day 2 - Oakdale, WI
July 3, 2005 - Up at 5 am and got rolling about 6:30. Southern IL roads are ROUGH. It got better after Champaign. The speed limit here for campers is 55 so I set the cruise on 60 and actually kind of enjoyed the slower pace. Especially since going slower meant the roads wouldn't beat you to death as bad. As bad as I hate construction, TN has SMOOTH roads. We hit the WI state line about 11:45 and found a Subway that advertised truck parking. So we whipped in, got a sub sandwich. Opened up the slide and ate in the trailer. Back on the road the traffic was very heavy for a Sunday. We arrived in Oakdale, WI at the Oakdale KOA at about 2:30. A very nice park, especially for a KOA. We're going to stay here a couple days and do the tourist thing. Probably drive down to Wisconsin Dells tomorrow.

First stop of the day at a rest area in Illinois.

Hopefully you can see the windmills in the background. There's hundreds of them. I guess they're pumping water since they're out in the middle of fields.

Another Rest Stop picture.

Here's Lady taking a break from the grind.

Ok, back to work.

Here I am taking a nap with the cruise control on. Debbie took this picture and actually left my head on.

Lady supervises the setup at the campground.

All set up and Debbie's got her satellite TV. Boy we're rufnit. Looks like a storm's moving in so we'll be calling on Mr. Oven to cook up some frozen pot pies tonight.
