See The USA - Day 20 - Las Vegas, NV
July 21, 2005 - We left at 6:30 AM headed south for Las Vegas. The main reason for going is to see what's changed in the fifteen years since we left. I bet we won't recognize it! We'll also be close to the Grand Canyon which is something we never saw when we were here. We arrived in Vegas about 3 PM and set up the camper. It's HOT here. 111 degrees.

Cloud cover greeted us as we left south on Hwy 95. Maybe that will keep things cooler for a while.

There's a large lake just off Hwy 95 called Walker Lake. I'm not sure where all this water came from. Somebody must have left a tap open.

Typical Nevada scene. That's it. Hills, dirt and sagebrush. There used to be a lot of whackos out in this area that claimed we had aliens from "Area 51" as they like to call it. The black helicopters must have showed up and zapped them with their ray guns because they're not here anymore. Darn.

Just outside of Vegas, this thunderstorm popped up and we got rained on for the first time in our trip. In the desert. Go figure.
