| Up at the top. The twisty, narrow road
brought us up to over 5200 ft altitude. |

| The observation point is made entirely of
lava. The rocks you see are actually lava rocks from the
volcanoes. All the mountains here are volcanoes. |

| The view down from the observatory. |

| This is only one of two waterfalls
within a quarter mile. The Mackenzie River flows west of
Sisters, OR. This waterfall is right off of Route 126.
This is all snow melting and running down from the
mountains. |

| This is further down from the falls. |

| This is the second falls at the end of
the trail. |

| Yes Lady went with us. I think she's a
bit worn out. But she'll be worse by the time we get
back. It's uphill for a quarter mile of trail! |

| Here's our hosts for this stop. Bill and
Robin Lewis. Long time customers and GREAT people. |

| Here's the THREE of us by the river. |

| A huge fire a few years ago wiped out
about 90,000 acres of this forest. You can still see
some dead trees. |

| Here's the fish hatchery outside Camp
Sherman, OR. All the lakes around here are stocked from
this hatchery. Debbie and Robin did their share feeding
the fish. |

| Here's the minnows. Millions of them!
Throw fish food in and it's a feeding frenzy. |

| Believe it or not, this is the beginning
of a river. Blow up the picture and look just past the
center of the picture to the right. There's a tad bit of
water coming out of the rocks forming a small pool. |

| Turning around, this is what it looks
like. This is how much it spreads in a matter of less
than 100 ft. This river flows for about 8 miles and
empties into a lake. That's Mt. Jefferson in the
background. There are actually 7 mountains near Sisters. |
