See The USA - Day 15 - Sisters, OR
July 16, 2005 - We pulled out about 7 AM this morning. Today's trip will be two lane roads only. We're taking 97 South down to the Oregon border and into Redmond, OR. Then turn west and drive the 20 miles to Sisters, OR. Sisters, OR got it's name from the three mountains next to it. The town was once called Three Sisters, OR and was later changed to just Sisters.

This is where we got on Hwy 97 South.

At the top of every hill is different scenery. Then when we go down, it's back to the desert.

Here's Mt. Hood.

This is the back side of Mt. St. Helens. I say the back side because it's the side that isn't blown out!

Almost to Oregon we drop down the hill to see the Columbia River Gorge.

A twisty turny road to get down to the bridge.

The Oregon State line is halfway across the bridge.

Here's a good picture of the Gorge with Mt. Hood in the background.

Here's the three sisters.

And a better picture without the trees in the way.
