See The USA - Day 12 - Yakima, WA
July 13, 2005 - We pulled out about 7 AM this morning. That place we stayed at last night turned out to be downtown Missoula, in the middle of a mobile home park. You can bet we locked everything up! And down the road we go!

Back seat driver.

Getting closer to Idaho the roads get steeper and the scenery gets better.

Big Sky Country!

This is almost to the Idaho border.

Welcome to Idaho! And you better make this curve or you'll never live to remember it!

Dropping down the hill into Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho. Just a few miles from the Washington border. The town is named for the lake and the interstate is elevated above the town.

The rest area right before the Washington state line. Tall pines and very clear sky. No haze at all.

Welcome to Washington!

Eastern Washington looks a lot like South Dakota!

Wheat fields galore.

Dropped down a hill and there was the Columbia River.

This was taken from the bridge crossing the Columbia.

BIG hill after the Columbia River. The steepest one yet. As we topped the hill there was a rest area. Debbie asked, is that a cloud or a mountain. I looked up...and it was Mt. Ranier!

I took this picture from the rest area. This is 80 MILES from Mt. Ranier! It's breathtaking!

This one is about 30 miles closer.

We arrived at Yakima Sportsman State Park about 2:30 and setup camp. A very nice park and a great spot to spend a few days.
