See The USA - Day One - Effingham, IL
July 2, 2005 - The day begins at 4 am. Yesterday was a long day getting everything ready to go. I'm up before the alarm clock and finishing up some computer things so I can shut the office computer down for a month. Today's destination is Camp Lakewood in Effingham, IL. About 350 miles. The truck is fueled and the trailer is hooked up.

First stop of the day at the rest area just over the Kentucky state line.

Arrived at Camp Lakewood in Effingham, IL at 12:00.

This place is ok for an overnight stop but not for "camping". I like a little grass! This place is nothing but rocks. The spot they gave us was just big enough for the trailer. If I disconnected the truck I'd have no where to park it! The cable is horrible so I hooked up the satellite.

There is a nice little lake behind us though.

Talk about maximum usage of space! This is two campsites in the same driveway. I'd have to need a space PRETTY bad to stay in one of these!

Mr. Grill gets the charcoal hot for the burgers. Yes, Black Angus Burgers!

Debbie fixes the potato salad on the stove.

The food's all gone and Lady says it's time for bed.
