December 23, 2011 - Well the crappy weather continues in
south Texas. This makes three bad winters in a row down here.
I'm beginning to think the first two we spent here were the
exception and not the norm. Last week I drove the orange car to
the house in Nevada and put it away for the rest of the winter
in the garage. We don't need two cars in the valley and with the
CRAZY IDIOT MEXICAN DRIVERS down here, not to mention the
constant busted windshields, I felt the car was much safer
sitting in the garage 1600 miles from here. I flew back to the
valley on Tuesday with Stephanie. She's staying for a week for
Christmas. Leaving the airport, which is a mile from the
expressway, it took 20 minutes to get to the expressway because
of the traffic. The Mexicans POUR across the border to shop (or
make a run for the heartland) and totally clog up the stores and
roads. Going ANYWHERE down here is an all day affair. Yesterday I drove into town to get some steaks, and
naturally on the way back, another busted windshield in the
black car. Three times now in the past year that windshield has
had to be fixed. Someone should file a class action lawsuit
against the state of Texas for not cleaning up the damn roads!
And for allowing the rock trucks to let their loads fall on the
roads. . The cabinet guy was supposed to show up yesterday to
put the cabinet doors on, no call, no show. I've tried two
different tile people to put the granite tile on the countertop,
neither one will return calls. If you haven't figured it out
yet, this place is finally getting on my last nerve and I'm
about ready to put the for sale sign in the yard and spend our
winters in Pahrump. Oh by the
way...Merry Christmas!
