Full Timing Journal - June 2010

June 24, 2010 - We arrived in Waldenwoods, our home park in Hartland, MI today. Beautiful 77 degree weather. Hopefully we've left the hot weather behind for awhile. Bob & Nancy were already here and Tim & Jean arrived about two hours after we did. Nancy did the cooking since we had all traveled today and we all hung out together for awhile.

June 21, 2010 - The 90 degree weather is still with us, even up in Indiana. Not to mention the RAIN. Our site is a SWAMP. It's rained almost every night and we have about 3 inches of standing water under the RV and around our site.

June 18, 2010 - Happy Birthday to my sister Betty! We made the trip up to Batesville, IN yesterday. As usual, we ran into rain about 50 miles into the trip. It cleared up once we got into Kentucky and we had an uneventful rest of the way. We'll be staying here until next Thursday when we'll head up to Hartland, MI to Waldenwoods. Bob & Nancy will already be there and our friends Tim & Jean that we hung out with in Gulf Shores will also be coming in the same day. This is THE BEST part of this lifestyle. Meeting up with good friends in different places!

June 16, 2010 - Whoa, it was even HOTTER in Tennessee. The mercury hit 100+ almost every day. There are NO RV parks in our home area. Rose and Michael of Street Rods by Michael once again let us hang out in their parking lot for a few days. They even put us a 50 amp plug on the front of the building so we'd have power! True friends are hard to come by. We sincerely appreciate their hospitality. The crew that works there didn't mind us taking their parking area for a few days either. Anyway, we got all the "doctor" stuff done. Looks like my ticker is still hanging in there and everything looked good. Now it's off to the north!

June 11, 2010 - Whoa, is it HOT in Georgia. Mid 90's and 100% humidity. The air is so thick you can cut it with a knife. The air conditioners are running full tilt and still it gets up to 86 inside the motorhome in the heat of the afternoon. Only ONE more day of this!!! Tomorrow we head to Tennessee for a few days for our annual doctor visits and then we're headed NORTH. We'll stay in Batesville, IN for a week and then head to Waldenwoods in Hartland, MI where it's mid 70's in the daytime.
