Full Timing Journal - June 2008

June 22 - 29, 2008 - Two weeks in Georgia was all I could stand. The heat and humidity was unbearable. Stephanie's doing fine on her own now and we left on the 22nd. We stayed a few nights in Knoxville at the Escapees park, Danny and I played golf on Monday. Thursday we headed up to Mitchell, IN for the Ward family reunion. Today we left Mitchell and made the 400 mile trip to Hartland, MI to Waldenwoods (our home park in Michigan). Bob and Nancy were already here and had saved us a site right behind them. The park is filling up fast for the holiday next weekend so it was good that they were able to save us a place close to them. The weather is absolutely beautiful here. This cool weather is a relief after the heat of Georgia.

June 6, 2008 - Gladly, the A/C was a quick fix. The start capacitor went out which makes the compressor run. The part was replaced, along with a new seal kit for the junky Sealand toilet and we headed down the road to Fair Harbor RV Park in Perry, GA. We'll stay here two weeks to help Stephanie through her surgery before heading north again.

June 5, 2008 - We rolled out of Chapel Hill waiting for a call back from Fleetwood. There was nothing available in Alabama on our original route so they got us into a service center in Byron, GA just down the road from Stephanie's. We arrived at Suncoast RV about 5 PM and hooked up outside their service department. It's well over 90 degrees and with only one A/C we're having a very "warm" evening.

June 4, 2008 - So much for going to Mobile. Our front A/C went out tonight. A strong electrical smell went through the coach and the front A/C quit cooling. Now we'll need to go somewhere and get this fixed. It's way too hot for one A/C.

June 2, 2008 - We now have a plan. Stephanie has knee surgery in Georgia on the 16th. We need to kill some time before that happens. A business associate I've worked with for several years is in Mobile, AL and he and I are working on some things together. We'll head down to Mobile on Thursday and stay down there for a week. That will put us in Warner Robins, GA three days before Steph's surgery. We've been wanting to go back down to the Gulf Coast area, especially Biloxi. It'll never be the way we remember it but hopefully they'll recover soon.
