| March 31, 2008 - We left San Antonio on
Sunday the 30th and made Shreveport, LA that day. We stayed
overnight at our "usual" location, the KOA in
Shreveport. Today we went as far as Vicksburg, MS and are at the
Ameristar RV Park. We'll stay here until Wednesday morning. Our
friends Bob & Nancy will be meeting us in Tunica on Thursday
so rather than check in at the Grand RV Resort on Wednesday,
we'll boondock it behind the Resorts overnight and meet them
Thursday at the Grand. Last time they met us there, the morons
in the office gave their site away (next to us) before they
arrived, so we'll check in together this time. |

| March 23, 2008 - The time has come to head
out. We left this morning about 8 AM and made the 280 mile trip
up to San Antonio, TX. Tried to fill up at a Valero, diesel at
3.84 per gallon!!! The pump was putting out less than a gallon
per minute, and this was the truck pumps! I stopped it at 15
gallons and pulled out. Good thing I didn't need much, I'd be
drawing Social Security before it got filled up if it was empty!
We'll be here in San Antonio a week to take care of the tax
stuff and then head toward TN slowly. BTW, just to prove that my
87 golf score was no fluke, I went again yesterday and scored
another 87. Tiger Woods look out, the old man's coming for
you!! |

| March 22, 2008 - The shed is finally
painted and this year's lot improvements are complete. We've
enjoyed our stay in the Rio Grande Valley and look forward to
coming back in November. I decided to take up golf again since
we're in a community with a golf course we can see from our lot.
After 37 years of not playing, I shot 103 the first time out. By
the fifth time playing I was under 90 with an 87. It all came
back to me even after this long. When we return in November,
we'll be building a Texas Room where the shed is and it will be
moved to the other side of the lot behind the motorhome. The
wind here can be a real pain, the Texas Room will allow us to
sit outside and not get blown out of our shoes. We're leaving
tomorrow for San Antonio. We'll be there a week and then head
for Tennessee for the Everest Rally in mid April. |
