Full Timing Journal - December 2008

December 28, 2008 - Both the kids flew here for Christmas and we all had a great time. I'm sure Debbie will tell you ALL about it so no sense in duplicating. I'll post some pictures though.

December 20, 2008 - We finally got moved to the new lot. Just in time for Christmas.

December 16, 2008 - Looks like the family will be together for Christmas. Danny & Stephanie both will be flying here to Texas to be with us. We already knew Danny was coming but Stephanie was finally able to get leave to come down. The tickets are bought and both will be arriving next Tuesday. Debbie will be cooking our "traditional" Christmas dinner. The casita has a convection oven large enough for a 13 lb turkey so that should feed our crew. Bob & Nancy will be joining us and she's bringing a ham so we should have plenty of food.

December 14, 2008 - We went shopping yesterday to outfit the new place with pots, pans etc. so we don't have to move things from the motorhome to the casita. Lou (the current owner) had his cleaning crew come in yesterday and get it ready for us to move in. He is going to try to get his motorhome moved today, he has battery problems so it may not happen till next week. Wednesday we'll make a trip to the lawyers and get the deal done. Lady was showing off so I thought I'd include her picture.

December 5, 2008 - We finally found a good pizza place. Mama's Pizzeria on 10th Street in McAllen, TX. WOW. Almost the best pizza I have ever eaten. Giordano's in Chicago is the only one that beats it so far. Our new lot is rocked and a few pictures are online here. We're set to close on the 17th of December.

December 3, 2008 - Yep, I skipped November. We really didn't do anything except live. Now for the next bit of news. The lot behind us became available when the owner put in a mobile home on the two lots next to us. He made us a good deal on the old lot so we're buying it and we'll be renting our other lot. It's a double size lot that DID have grass on it but the owner got tired of the mowing and tore out the grass. The rock will be done before we take ownership. It has a small casita on the site and an extra storage shed. We will probably move over to this lot week after next once we can get the closing done.
