| October 31 - I
dumped the "New Journal" on Blogspot. Way too
difficult to work with. I'll just stick with my old way. Three
days of traveling has us in Texarkana, TX. We'll be meeting up
with our friends Bob & Nancy in Tunica this weekend. Then
we'll all head up to Natchez Trace for about 12 days.

| October 28 - Thursday
night the realtor called and a tree had blown down in the back
yard the night before. This is the day before the closing! It
missed the house and the satellite dish by INCHES. We were
lucky! Had we come home for the closing, the tree would have
split our new motorhome in half because it fell right where we
would have been parked. Now we're glad we didn't go home for the
closing! The deal went through on Friday and we're now
officially "HOUSELESS"..not Homeless!

| October 15 - The first site we had at
Beaudry we had all day sun. Not fun. So after two days we moved
over to a hot tub site. While backing it in, a rabid power
pedestal bit the back of the motorhome. I know it couldn't have
been the driver! I guess I'll have to call in some favors when
we get to TN and get this fixed at Thanksgiving. We bought a
couple of folding bikes while we were here. They fold down small
enough to go in the storage bay. I also bought a new camera as
the old one was a "bit" outdated. Now we're just
waiting for the rally to begin. Several fellow "Datastormers"
have started arriving already.

| October 7 - 20 miles before we arrived in
Las Cruces, we noticed the refrigerator was no longer running.
When we arrived and got set up, we went to Wally World and got a
big cooler and a 20 lb bag of ice. Naturally, things NEVER break
during business hours, of course it was a Sunday afternoon. So I
got out my meter and started troubleshooting. Turns out, the
lights over the couch were also not working. Fleetwood in all
their infinite wisdom, feeds the 12 volt power to the
refrigerator from the overhead lights in the living room.
Apparently we have a broken wire somewhere that killed not only
the lights over the couch, but also the fridge. So being the
"resourceful" person I am, I tapped a 12 volt wire
from the furnace, into the fridge to get it running again. Once
we get to Beaudry in Tucson, I'll call Fleetwood and get them to
schedule us into the service center at Beaudry and get this
fixed properly.
While in Las Cruces, we also went into old Mesilla to La
Posta for Debbie's favorite Mexican food. As always, it was
EXCELLENT.

| October 6 - I had a business meeting in
San Antonio yesterday. With that out of the way, we're headed
toward Tucson for the Datastorm Users Rally. We'll stop
overnight in Fort Stockton, TX tonight, then Las Cruces, NM
tomorrow night. |
